I arrived in Hawaii last week from Indiana. Down here, there’s lots of people who can speak Japanese and Chinese which makes me happy because I’m majoring Japanese in college. In fact, I was able to study a year abroad in Japan. Seeing this place really brought back a lot of memories of Japan and Japanese food. Everything on the menu looked great, but I wasn’t sure what to order so I went with the Maiko Special, the most popular item.

I love how this place is so Japanese from the look of the store, the interior, and the staff. It was so fun speaking Japanese with everyone.

It’s a shame that there aren’t any matcha stores back in Indiana. I had a great time and will come by again while I’m here!
